Are Homefree products free of the 14 most common food allergens?
Yes, with the one exception of soy lecithin in the Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies, as explained below. That means that Homefree products are all free of peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, soy, fish and shellfish, celery, mustard, sesame, sulfur dioxide and sulfites, lupin and mollusks. Additionally, Homefree uses no rice, potato, or legumes, for even broader inclusiveness. As the mother of a child with multiple food allergies, I set up the dedicated facility and the entire production process the way I would want done for my child. Please see our way for details on all the care we take to make sure that Homefree treats are “treats you can trust.”
Is there soy protein in your products?
All Homefree products are soy free except that the Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies contain soy lecithin. Most, but not all, people with soy allergies are able to tolerate soy lecithin because the protein has been removed, and allergies are reactions to proteins. However, because traces can remain, we have tested our Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies for soy down to 2 parts per million and the test was negative for soy protein. Despite that, we additionally clean the lines before baking other flavors. If you are allergic to soy, please consult with your allergist to determine what makes sense for you.

Why do these cookies cost more than some other cookies?
In order to have the highest possible control over the quality and allergy safety of our cookies, we do not do the common, significantly less expensive practice of contracting with “co-packers,” where someone else bakes and packages the products in a kitchen shared with other products. Rather, we have our own dedicated facility for our products only. In this way, we can design and supervise every aspect of staff, equipment, ingredients, baking and packaging. Then we make our products from high quality, wholesome ingredients including 100% whole grain flours, natural chocolate and cocoa powder, fruit juice, and non-hydrogenated oils. Further, many of our ingredients are certified organic and our oats are specially grown and processed to be gluten free. We source all of our ingredients with great care, always choosing allergen safety over price. Additionally, we conduct our own allergen and gluten testing. All this so you can feel home free with “treats you can trust!”
Do you ship outside the United States?
Do you offer your products in bulk, such as for schools and other food service?
Yes. And to support schools’ and other non-profits’ efforts to support our children, we offer discounted bulk rates to keep the cookies as affordable as possible for all of the children. Some Homefree cookies are so healthy, they are USDA “Smart Snacks,” thereby providing a terrific solution for schools. These are the single serve bags of Double Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Mint, and Organic Ginger Snap. With Homefree, our children can feel great being included when treats are served, the parents love how wholesome the cookies are, and the kids without allergies love the cookies too.
Does Homefree have a commitment to sustainability?
Yes. At Homefree, we care a great deal about protecting our environment. Some of our products are certified organic thereby contributing to the health of our water and of our families. Further, most of our packaging is made from recycled materials, and most of our cookie boxes additionally are made using wind power. We only use the packaging we need: You will find little extra space in our boxes. From reusable cups in our staff room, to efficient appliances in our kitchen, we at Homefree are careful stewards of our environment. We proudly are a certified B Corporation because of our strong commitment to environmental as well as social responsibility.
