Making Halloween a Night Everyone Can Enjoy

by | Sep 22, 2025 | Uncategorized

Halloween is one of the most anticipated nights of the year — costumes are picked out, porch lights glow, and neighborhoods come alive with laughter and excitement. For many, it’s a night of pure fun. But for families managing food allergies or celiac disease, it can also bring a layer of worry.

The Teal Pumpkin Project, started by a food allergy mom and now led by FARE, is helping change that by encouraging households to offer non-food treats. It’s a small shift that can make a big difference — ensuring every child can feel included and safe while joining in the fun.

This year, we wanted to make it even easier for families, businesses, and community events to participate, so we created a Homefree Teal Pumpkin Project Kit. Each kit supports the Teal Pumpkin Project and comes with teal pencils for a safe, non-food option, a custom garden flag to signal your participation, and our Vanilla Mini Cookies in teal packaging. Of course, as always, the Homefree cookies are certified gluten-free and vegan and are free from the top 14 allergens.

We’ve always believed that treats should bring joy. That’s why we bake our cookies with great care, so more children can enjoy them with confidence.

And because we believe in the mission of the Teal Pumpkin Project, we’re donating $1 from every kit sold to FARE to help raise awareness and inspire even more participation in this inclusive tradition.

Our hope is simple — that these kits help make it easy to make Halloween a night where every child, and every family, feels welcome.
